Volunteer Positions
PRESIDENT: Directs the activities of the Bourbonnais Dynamo Soccer Association and is a member of all committees and is in charge of all meetings. The President will act as a liaison between Dynamo Soccer and outside groups that interact with Association.
VICE-PRESIDENTt: Assists the president and chairs all meetings when the president is absent.
SECRETARY: Is in charge of correspondence, legal accounting, and other such secretarial duties. Records minutes of all meetings, maintains all Association records and works with other officers in completing their duties. The Secretary is responsible for organizing the registration and draft.
TREASURER: Is in charge of all banking activities and accounts payable and receivable. The Treasurer is responsible for fundraising activities in conjunction with the fundraising committee chairperson and the Parent Representative.
PARENT REPRESENTATIVE: Is responsible for assisting team parents in their duties. The Parent Representative is responsible for fundraising activities along with the fundraising committee chairperson and the Treasurer.
COACH: You do not need to be experienced to try coaching, only willing to learn. Particularly at the younger divisions. Many coaches are needed to work with the players.
ASSISTANT COACH: No special soccer skill is required. Most teams have one coach and an assistant coach who can help with drills and practices, and help plan and coach at games.
TEAM PARENT: This is mainly organizing and phone work. The team parent organizes a phone tree for communication and distributes information. When there is information to be conveyed, the team parent starts the phone tree to spread the word. At the end of the season the team parent helps arrange for a team party and usually collects for a coach's gift as well.
FIELD/GROUNDS: Organizes the schedule of people doing field preparation during the season, distributes it, and makes sure people know what has to be done. Also involves calling to remind people when it is their turn for field preparation such as cutting grass and painting fields. Facilities: Makes sure that the goals and all necessary facilities are available for our teams. Fields: Arranges for fields, schedules them, etc.
REFEREE IN CHIEF: Chairs the "Protest Committee" and is in charge of recruitment and training of referees and is responsible for making sure that every game has the necessary referees. Lists of referees are provided along with the field assignments. The Referee in Chief is also responsible for making sure a substitute is provided if the scheduled referee cannot work.
REGISTRATION / DRAFT: Is responsible for the advertisement of registration, the scheduling of a facility, and the registering of players. Registrations are held in April and May. We need people to help advise those registering, check forms, take money, sort and file forms. The chairman of this committee is responsible for the setting up of the Dynamo League draft.
EQUIPMENT: Is responsible for league bidding and purchasing activities. Keeps inventory of all Dynamo equipment and sees to it that all needed supplies are on hand, and purchases replacements for worn out equipment.
PUBLICITY: Places notices of registration in local papers, puts up signs for registration, manages the Dynamo Soccer Web Site and handles any other publicity the Association requires. Gathers information, writes articles, prepares newsletters, arranges for copying and distribution. Writes public relations pieces about all facets of Dynamo Soccer.
BUILDINGS: Is in charge of directing the current building campaign. This includes recommendations on layout, vendors, financing, and other items that become apparent in the completion of constructing the building.
PICTURES: Organizes and schedules team and individual pictures.
Is responsible for setting up coaching clinics and other training opportunities for coaches. Assigns coaches and assistant coaches to teams and provides the necessary information for team management.
CONCESSIONS: Organizes the schedule of people working in the concession stand during the season, distributes it, and makes sure people know what has to be done. Also involves calling to remind people when it is their turn to work in the concession stand. Keeps an appropriate inventory of concession stand items/food on hand and oversees good sanitary food practices. (Not a Board position)
FUND RAISING: Recommends fundraising vendors, organizes, distributes and collects fund raising materials and funds. Works closely with the Team Parents.
SPONSORS: Is in charge of recruiting sponsors.
WEB MANAGER: Maintain the Dynamo website.
NATIONAL VOLUNTEER SCREENING PROGRAM: In charge of KID SAFE PROGRAM.
